Sacred Voyager is a travel show with a difference. Writer and academic Robert Beckford (Who Wrote the Bible, God is Black) travels the world to incredible places that people visit in part for their spiritual significance.

In the pilot episode, aired recently and successfully, on Travel in the USA Beckford explores Jerusalem. “This place is sacred for more than three and a half billion people – Jews, Muslims and Christians.

It’s the most important piece of real estate on the planet. Every year more and more people are travelling to the sacred wonders of the world. Places like the Ganges, Stonehenge, and the Taj Mahal.

But the most sacred of all is Jerusalem. Revered by three of the World’s great religions - Judaism, Christianity and Islam. The big guys of each of them - Abraham, Jesus and Mohammed - all came through here.” says Beckford.
