Film London / Diverse Placement Scheme

Call for traninee applications development researcher.
Film London’s Company Placement Scheme (CPS) is supporting six companies based in London including Diverse who will each provide one six month paid placement, for a new entrant to the Film and Moving Image sector (including TV and animation)

Diverse is looking to hire a Development Researcher, with the following responsibilties:

• Generating new programme ideas within the genres of factual, factual entertainment and features
• Researching stories behind the ideas
• Securing access to potential contributors
• Writing up proposals
• Reading newspapers and magazines for new story ideas on a daily basis
• Assisting the development team in researching their ideas

 

Each Trainee on the Scheme will receive:

 

• Payment of the Minimum wage (£5.05 per hour) for 6 months (26 weeks) (based on a 40 hour week)
• 10 days holiday per placement
• A structured work plan personal to each placement, based on the Skillset National Occupational Standards
• A named experienced supervisor/mentor within the company
• Regular Monitoring and evaluation of the placement
• After-care careers guidance and advice

 

Initial Eligibility

 

In order to be eligible to apply to this scheme you will need to demonstrate the following:

• You must be a New entrant into the industry: You must be over 18 years of age and you must be able to demonstrate a commitment to working in the Film, TV or Moving Image sector: e.g. you may have undertaken paid work experience, though this is not a necessity (up to a maximum of 6 months) or done unpaid work experience or undertaken training related to this sector.

• You must be resident within the Film London Region: The region Film London covers comprises all thirty three London Boroughs including: Barking and Dagenham, Barnet, Bexley, Brent, Bromley, Camden, City, Croydon, Ealing, Enfield, Greenwich, Hackney, Hammersmith and Fulham, Haringey, Harrow, Havering, Hillingdon, Hounslow, Islington, Kensington and Chelsea, Kingston, Lambeth, Lewisham, Merton, Newham, Redbridge, Richmond, Southwark, Sutton, Tower Hamlets, Waltham Forest, Wandsworth, and Westminster.
